Assembly Reports and Documents

Welcome to the 2014 DOS Assembly!

Christ is risen! Indeed, He is risen!

This year the DOS Assembly is scheduled to take place July 21 to July 25 at St. Seraphim's Orthodox Cathedral in Dallas, TX.

Please see the welcome letter from Archimandrite Gerasim (Eliel), rector at St. Seraphim's.  The schedule of events can be seen here.

Please note: Deans and Diocesan Council Members need to arrive in time for the Monday, July 21, 9:00 am meeting of the Diocesan Council. Clergy and Lay Delegates should arrive no later than 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 22. The Youth Program will begin on Tuesday at 9:45 am.

It is vitally important that any who attend who are not delegates officially register as observers (including clergy wives). This will help the Cathedral adequately prepare for the provided meals and other hospitality. Additionally, any observers who want to attend the banquet must purchase a ticket.

A block of rooms has been allocated at a special DOS Assembly rate at the Double Tree Hotel close to the Cathedral for arrival on July 20 and continuing through the close of the assembly; please use this link in order to make your reservations. Reservations at the DOS Assembly rate are available only until June 30 or until the block is filled, so please make your reservation as soon as possible.

Additionally, a group discount rate for airfare is available for Clergy and Lay Delegates, Observers and their families through American Airlines for travel from any location to Dallas (DFW). An individual delegate accesses the American Airlines website aa.com/group. Then he selects flights using the following discount code 6574DT for a 5% discount. This discount code is available for travel to DFW airport on American Airlines and American Eagle flights [but not on USAir flights].

[Please note: Love Field (DAL) is significantly closer to both the hotel and St Seraphim Cathedral, but that American Airlines does not fly to Love Field (DAL). If you intend to rent a car, car rental prices are significantly lower at DFW airport.]

All information concerning the assembly will be posted on the DOS website. As has been our practice for several years, delegates (and observers) will need to bring their own copies (electronic or hard) of all assembly materials.

The Cathedral is working diligently to assure that we will have an edifying, productive, and enjoyable assembly. I look forward to seeing you all there in July.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions at all.

In the risen Lord,

Fr Marcus Burch
